You guys! I am so excited to tell you that I have been podcasting again. I have missed it dearly and I'm looking forward to sharing with you everything about Build it Beautiful and allowing people far and wide to be able to use the curriculum and the tools to become amazing leaders.

People can be born with an affinity towards leadership, but anybody can learn better tools to be leaders. Frankly, I feel like our world needs it now more than ever. With such high anxiety and low mental health, we need people who can break those barriers. We need people who know who they are, know where they're going and want to bring others along.

That is exactly what you will learn through this podcast.

I'm already four episodes in so if you want to backtrack a couple episodes to learn from the beginning, but it won't matter where you start. You will find something you need.

My Hope is that you are empowered today to make choices for a brighter tomorrow.

Did you know that when you hire the wrong person for a position in your business, it will cost you anywhere between 1x and 27x their base salary? Yikes!!!! If you even have a base salesman at 50k a year, it could cost you about 300k if they aren't a good fit (usually sales pros are about 6x). That can get pricey.

Entry level jobs are 1x and executives are 27x.

Knowing how to hire well is important in your business.

One thing we do that we got from Topgrading (on Amazon) is to have the applicant set up their own reference calls for you. It REALLY weeds out the people not really interested in working for you. It requires them to make contact with who they used to work for... And you can already tell it would cause some hesitation in some.

Also, If you know anything about me, you'll know I despise clowns. My co workers thought this was hilarious at my desk. Needless to say I've been working remote all month 🤣🤣🤣

The greater self is made up of body emotions, thoughts and action. However...

You have a body but you can observe it from a perspective outside looking in

You have emotions but you can observe them and control them

You have thoughts but you can reject them and/or use them as tools

You make actions but you can consciously choose your actions. Think over them and control them to change your habits

Isn't that so neat?

Can you notice these things in you?

Leadership is not just about titles or positions.

We finally found the right company to print our Bo

We finally found the right company to print our Book of beautiful bowls!

This concept came to my oldest daughter and I when we were out to eat for lunch and were struggling to find something that I could eat because I have celiac disease and that she would enjoy.

That lunch we were talking about her and the other girls earning money for their various activities, ballroom and cheer, and in that same conversation talked about how we eat as a family.

This ingenious idea was born to share with you the way we eat as a family to help us meet all the individual needs and wants nutritionally. It definitely was a labor of love taking all my free time in June and July to create and to get it published and able to purchase in August and September.

Not only are we so excited to share with you this completely gluten-free recipe book but also mostly dairy-free and mostly nut free and easy to make the bowls that way as needed. We are so excited to share with you a part of our family's culture because food is community.

The proceeds of our book whether you buy it on Amazon for the Kindle version or on my website in a PDF or a print version, those proceeds go to my girls activities. They wrote most of the text pages, I put our family recipes together, And then they did editing as well.

I felt the world knew the day we honored because its skies were filled with smoke and ash as the day 23 years ago.

But that didn't stop our community from showing up. My heart overflowed seeing the hundreds of community members cleaning up, donating, and serving in our city's day of service.

We live in a good world. You just have to look for it in the lives of others.

My daughter's high school placed a flag for each h

My daughter's high school placed a flag for each human who lost their life on 9/11.
My middle schooler watched footage in each class and the teachers answered any questions the students had while sharing their own experiences of 9/11.
My elementary girl made homeless kits, dog toys for the humane society, and kits for refugees.

Sharing tales of those we've lost is how we keep from really losing them.

So grateful for a national day of service and my community for remembering.

I've been learning that seasons get shorter as life goes on.

Which means that change is everywhere.

Cue... Uncertainty.

To navigate uncertainty, the daily mundane becomes your guide.

What are the little everyday things you do that ground you in uncertainty?

I deeply study Scripture on Sundays and then each morning before I work out.

If I accomplish these simple, repeating tasks... I roll with the punches better.

The very act of letting go is not failure, but a choice of completion. Letting go is one of the surest signs humans evolve and do change.

For whoever needs to hear this 🤟🏼

Celiac can be very silent and a lot of my "normals

Celiac can be very silent and a lot of my "normals" in my body were actually not normal at all. I didn't find this out until I was diagnosed.

You might want to look at celiac or other autoimmune disorders if...
- your joints get achy (like can't squat down to get something out of the fridge)
- your gums bleed a lot when you brush your teeth and never seem to get tougher
- you fight headaches for a couple days after eating foods you don't usually eat
- you get bloated or gassy after carb heavy foods like ice cream or pizza
- you have acne flare ups like shown in this reel
- you spend a lot of your time near a restroom in condensed time frames

I used to that acne was "in my genes" but it was all from Celiac. Within 24 hours of being contaminated my face breaks out and it will last for about a week. In fact, ALL these symptoms are thing that happen to me and can last up to a week after I eat gluten. As I get back to clean foods I clear up and these things go away.

Sometimes we just don't know how sick we really are until we take the inflammatory substance out. And, these aren't things others see when they think even just a little won't hurt.... It is just a lack of education and celiac patient's job to inform patiently and often.

Powerful is a characteristic that we all have.

It's pulled out by moments of challenges and trials.

By the rocks we're handed that seemed too heavy to bear. But we do it anyway.

These small moments will mirror your strength to yourself, and reflect that strength to those watching.

Be it celiac, PMDD, or mental health for me, I will choose to build.

Every season in growth is for something …. You

Every season in growth is for something ....

You plant - planning with hope for the future. A dream acted upon.

You wait - but actively - consistently watering and feeding to keep it alive, weeding away the distractions, keeping the care on the one sprout. It's work.

You watch - the growth feels so good. Anticipation at its finest.

You enjoy - the fruits of your labors are stunning at their peak. Paired with other peak seasons, you can create masterpieces.

You shift - even the greatest of all our efforts will eventually die to go back into the ground to become fertilizer and nourishment for the next season of planting. Not wasted but part of the next plant.

And around we go again.

Where are you in your seasons? In human lives different parts of our lives will be in different seasons. Knowing and acknowledging them will bring clarity and gratitude, giving us insight into what we need to enjoy now at its peak before we shift again.
